She’s not so different from me-
I mean –
Look at our grades
We study;
Diligent students
We dress tastefully,
Elegant and sharp
…with a little leg
And our hair is long
Silken brunette waves
Hers is a bit more curly- wild
But I guess that’s the symbol
Of what sets us

Lurking in the shadows
With glowing mischief eyes
Creeping up on me

You speak with a voice
Inviting and deep
That fills my bones

Dark boy
You smile like an imp
Lopsided and alluring
That pulls my gravity

Opposites Attract

Pristine white
Neat, orderly
Blue lines across
Pink lines down
Perfect, untouched
Pure
Inviting, tempting

Night black
Shapely curves
Sharp lines
Uneven, random
No perfect repetitions
Messy
Creative, meaningful

Pen tip presses
On smooth white paper
What was previously
Empty
Pristine
Is now
Filled
Charmingly askew
