Hear the Thunder (a poem)

Hear the Thunder
Written April 9th, 2013
Can you hear the thunder roar
Pounding loud on your door?
Rain, rain, dances aground,
Lightning flashes without a sound
The storm will knock your door down.

Can you hear the thunder growl
As the wind rushes by with a howl?
Rain, rain, lashes in the fray
Lightning darts across the grey
The storm will sweep your house away.

A Little Secret (a poem)

A Little Secret
Written November 20th, 2012

To tell the truth,
I think about you
When I’m curled up in bed
And raindrops dance over my head
A vulnerable time to think about hopes and fears;
Playful rainfall can easily become tears.
I shouldn't dream of you in this way
But I have a hunch our destinies are intertwined;
It’s the way you always find
A smile in your pocket to give me
On days I’m so turned around I can’t see
When I have massive mountains to ascend
You give me freedom to fly with the love you lend.
Lately I wonder about you all the time
To be honest, I think you have a hunch too

Midnight Rain (a poem)

Midnight Rain
Written October 14th, 2011
Sweet velvet rain
Pattering on my roof
Sing me softly to sleep

The gentle whispers
Reach my ears
As you travel in swirling rivulets
Across the shingles
Of this midnight house

Tempest Storm (a poem)

Tempest Storm
Written August 14th, 2011
Thunder roaring in the sky
Lightning flashes blinding bright
Rain falling till it starts to flood
Take me, seize me, fly me high
Away from this life into the windblown night
Tempest storm I feel you running in my blood

Just a quick little poem inspired by the storm today :)

(Raise Your Voice) Me Being Me (a poem)

Raise Your Voice
Me Being Me
Written July 12th, 2011

There’s a little car racing along
Bright paint sparkling in the sun
And a girl leaning out the passenger window
Tapping a beat on the door to a lively song
Her long hair flies back in the wind
And she has a smile
Big enough for the whole world
Enjoying something simple for a while
The people in town watch her go
And smile quietly to themselves
Remembering the infectious grin
That helped ease a deep sorrow

(Dear Marius) Now You Know (a poem, a dedication)

Dear Marius
Now You Know
Written April 25th, 2011
The tears of Angels
Fall
            Fall
From the great sky
So mighty
Each drop
Slapping me in the face
Stinging my skin
Though they’re so soft
Today
The rain I love
Bites, merciless

Hiding From the Storm (a poem)

Hiding From the Storm
Written March 31st, 2011
The rain is falling outside
Pattering softly on my window
Playing the soft tune
Of a lullaby
On my roof

We are hiding from the storm
Tucked safely in each other’s arms
Keeping the cold away
Separated from this harsh world
By the blankets around us
Nothing can hurt us
Him and I
While we’re surrounded
By this love

A Meeting with the Goddess (a poem)

A Meeting with the Goddess
Written March 3rd, 2011
In the dead of the night
While my family sleeps
I am awake and restless
So from the house I creep
Outside beneath the summer moon
I do not care if the neighbors see
The crazy girl barefoot in the yard
Only hours before dawn, pulling herself into a tree

A Drop of Water (a poem)

A Drop of Water

I am a little drop of water
Falling from the sky,
In a thunderstorm,
And I land in a stream,
Which gets wider and turns into a river,
Where boats ride past me
And the other water droplets
Until the water comes to a waterfall,
The boats branch off to another part of the river,
And I keep going
And fall of the edge,
With all the other water drops
And I am flying with my comrades
Until I land at the bottom
