Satisfaction, Shared (a poem)

Satisfaction, Shared
Written June 18th, 2013
Empty.

The pit was filled briefly.
Alas, now emptier
Than before.
How foolish of me;
I curl up in the sheets.

He says nothing,
Although he must sense
My disappointment.
He only has time
To ponder his own contentment.

He has no touches for me
Why would he?
His touches are fulfilled
But I, I am
Empty.
I was filled materially
-briefly-
But drained emotionally.

Come Home to You (a poem)

Come Home to You
Written on June 12th, 2013
When I was a child

In days I cannot remember

I dreamt of planting flowers on the moon
As I looked up into the night sky
In early September.

I envisioned a career in agriculture
Working long, gratifying days,
I dreamt of artistry and sculpture
A menagerie of colors and paints.
As a veterinarian, I would mend and heal
Make loving pets out of the sick and faint.

Imperfect Love (a poem)

Imperfect Love
Written February 8th, 2011
He is not an iron addict
With arms stacked to the hilt
Thinned out like a pancake
He has been lightly built

His eyes do not burn
With the passion of a dying sun
Rather, grayed with a touch of sapphire
And a faint spark of mischief and fun

Not colored with alluring, sensual caramel
The sought after, sun kissed tone
Instead he is sprinkled with playful freckles
Atop of the color of clean, bright bone

This Moment (a poem)

This Moment
Written January 13th, 2012
I’m taking this moment
A feather drifting on a breeze
I’m taking it, and I’ll keep it
Tuck it away somewhere secret
A hidden safe place
I’m memorizing these seconds
And stowing them away
So I have them just in case
I find myself lonely on a cold, rainy day

Goodnight (a poem)

Goodnight
Written August 10th, 2011
I wish you didn’t have to go
But your eyes are heavy
And you’ve had a long day, I know
Goodnight to you, fallen angel
Know that as your eyes close
The sun sets on my world
And I will grow impatient for tomorrow to unfurl

Missing You (a poem)

Missing You
Written June 5th, 2011
I press my face to the pillow
And with a soft weary sigh
Allow the blankets to embrace me
Slowly, I let the day go
To be absorbed by my loving mattress
Freed from limiting concentration
And the confines of stress
My mind wanders where it likes
Since I’m quite fond of you
It tends to meander your way

In the dark of night
My thoughts screaming into
Silence

I think of you,
And I long for you.

No Shirt/Long Lovin (lyrics, a poem, a re-make)

No Shirt/ Long Lovin
Re-Make of Cake's song:
Short Skirt/ Long Jacket
Written June 28th, 2011
I want a guy with a heart like a lion
I want a guy who knows what I love
I want a guy with style that shows
And eyes that sizzle from above

I want a guy with the right intentions
Who's funny and attentive
And hot as a sun
He's playing with my heartrate
He's messing with my hair
He's touring my body
And he's only just begun

I want a guy with no shirt and a looooong smile

I Am Not Afraid (a novel) Chapter One

Began writing on April 9th, 2011
Chapter One
First Visit

The first time I saw him, I was nine years old.
My sister had had a bad dream, and asked me to come sleep with her. Our parents were gone for the weekend, and out brother’s girlfriend had come over at eight and they hadn’t come out of his room since.
I was only two years older than her, but I guess when you’re scared any kind of company is better than none.
She had come into my room at about midnight, shaking me awake. I had followed her blearily into her room, crawled under the covers, and promptly fell asleep again.
I woke up at three a.m., and to this day I can’t really remember why. There was no loud noise, no bad dream, and no sudden movements. I just opened my eyes and there he was, standing at the foot of the bed.
