Dumbstruck (a poem)

Dumbstruck
written March 18th, 2011

My stomach twists
But I'm not sick
I clench my hands into fists
But I'm not angry
My heart hammers in my chest
But I'm not running
My mind is racing
But I'm not taking a test
I feel like I can fly
But I don't have wings
I want to sing
But I can barely speak

You just walked by me
And smiled
