New Notebook (a poem)

New Notebook
Written March 3rd, 2011
I hold in my hands
The prettiest notebook
I ever did see
My mind racing with plans
Of things to write that will be worthy

I write my name
All fancy-like inside
With my special quill and ink
An hour later though; it remains the same
No ideas good enough to confide

I do not wish to disgrace
Its pretty unlined pages
100% recycled and so perfectly clean
So I place it on the shelf with a disheartened face
My name the only writing yet to be seen

I walk to my desk instead
And select a simple spiral notebook
Cost me naught but a dollar
Nearly filled with thoughts from my head
I write without worry of shaming it; perhaps its worth I mistook
